INTRODUCTION
The impact of a project like ALLEGRO is hard to measure. As the project has developed, so the project team has become increasingly aware of the complex network of people whose attitudes may have been affected by our work. The direct impact has been on the learners themselves, of course, their teachers, and the staff in the agencies and organisations we’ve worked with. But these people are also part of wider communities – their families, friends and colleagues, the local community, the town. The enjoyment and satisfaction that our learners have experienced is passed on to many others and we hope that this will influence their attitudes about who can learn languages and the value of doing so. |
